Weekly Gatherings

Sunday Night Sittings, 6:30pm to 8:30pm

We practice in the tradition of Zen Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh. We are peer-facilitated and volunteer run, without a formal teacher or leader. We generally meet every Sunday, including holidays. Any (rare) cancellations will be announced on the home page of this website, as well as on our email listserve and Facebook page (click here for more info.) Generally, one may expect some combination of:

  • Mindful Stretching
  • Sitting ¬†Meditation
  • Walking Meditation
  • Mindful Tea
  • Dharma Reading or Study
  • Community Sharing

Beginners and newcomers are welcome. We operate on a drop-in, optional-donation basis, and we strive to be accessible for all.


The Mindfulness Practice Community is finding a new home. Starting Sunday, November 8 we will be practicing at Gold Buddha Monastery, 248 East 11th Avenue, Vancouver.¬† We are excited about building a connection with the nuns of the monastery and practicing in their beautiful space. We have arranged to have a trial period at the monastery for a month, and if everyone’s happy, we may be making Gold Buddha monastery our new home! One of the good things about this space is that they have storage available, so we will be able to use our own set of cushions again.

If you have been coming to the Sunday meditation evenings, the new location if literally across the street. If you haven’t been coming for a while this is a change to reconnect and check our the new practice environment.

The space where we will be practicing is downstairs. We will have someone from MPCV to meet you at the door and show you where we are meeting. We look forward to seeing you there and hearing you there.

After the sitting, we sometimes enjoy an informal meal together at a nearby restaurant.
